Indonesia's Government and Nuclear Authority Visit

      

Nuclear authority representatives of Indonesia Government have visited Japan in early October. The purposes of visit are to survey the status of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station, which is suffered from the huge earthquakes but shut-downed safely, and to obtain lessens for the implementation plan of new nuclear power plants in Indonesia, where earthquake is very frequent as Japan is. The member visited the Unit No.6 in Kashiwazaki-Kariwa NPS and inspected the event status at the earthquake and the current recovery status of the Unit 6 as well as technical discussion with the plant engineers. They also visited the BWR Training Center and observed a training plant simulator. After the visit, the member expressed a comment of satisfaction on this visit and left a message of acknowledgment for our proposal to dispatch experts to Indonesia to get a better understanding of seismic technology in Japan.
